Day 13

Had our final presentation just now. Everything went smoothly and i am glad that everyone enjoyed our video and i enjoyed the rest too.

From this module, i have learn new effects that i can use in future. Other than that, i have found ways to find out its history and techniques on how to do execute it. Some where along the researching, i will find interesting facts about the certain thing. That makes it more motivating to do.

Overall i benefited from this module. Good job all of us.

Day 12

Today, we met up in school to compile everything and do our group report. I saw the final video of the stop motion which Raymond has edited and i think it was really hilarious somehow. Haha. Why? You will find out later.

We started discussing what to include in the report. We divided the work load. And make sure our videos are alright. After which we left to continue on our work individually.

Tomorrow will be submission. We are ready! Good luck everyone!

Day 11

Got our filming done! We did it in the tv studio and we had so much fun while doing it. It was hilarious to see both Raymond and Hui Qin writing non stop in front of the camera and complaining how tiring it was.

As we did not have torches, we had an idea of using handphones. Not only that, we constantly changed wallpaper on the phone in order to have different color of lights. Aren't we smart or what. Haha! I was handling the camera. Shutter speed to bulb and aperture to f22. I took each shot at ard 6 to 10 seconds. Doing stop motion can be quite tiring as each shot have to be taken individually. But everything was worth it. Thanks to Raymond for his butterfly. Haha.

After that we went over to hereafter to do the one using after effects. Had a tutorial as a guide and i slowly follow and try out the idea. Halfway there now and everything is going well.

Day 10

Today, we planned to do our shoot. Did not manage to borrow the track. No choice but to give up the idea of doing vertigo. Now we 're fully focusing on light writing. We decided to do both stop motion and after effect so as to be able to compare which is better. As we did not have enough time to do the shooting, we have pushed it to tomorrow. I'll be in charge of handling the camera and Raymond and Hui Qin will do the writing.

Day 9

We have decided to integrate the idea of light writing and vertigo. We're meeting up to further discuss on how to combine shoot both of the ideas. It would definitely be cool. HA!

Day 8

Today, i finally get to know who i am working with. And they are none other than Raymond and Hui Qin. I have worked with Raymond previously but not Hui Qin, but i am sure we will get along well and have fun during the shoot. Now we have to decide which to execute on.

Day 7

Presentation 2 went smoothly today. Julian likes my idea and i like my idea too. Now i'm just thinking who i am going to work with and will my idea be executed. I'm fine with anything as long as we can have fun. I enjoyed watching the rest of the ideas and i also find some of them very interesting. I look forward to see the final products of the others. Day 6

Today, i start preparing for presentation for the next day. As usual, compile everything into power point slides. Add some visual aids, videos, elaborate on the steps to do it, equipment needed and so on. Try to make my presentation as interesting as possible.

Day 5

There's not much information on the history of Light writing. I went through quite few links in order to get a good and reliable website. There are techniques, photos, equipments all as example to specifically showing how all these light writing is done. I find everything so cool and nice. The effects created are simply gorgeous. I am very excited to share it with the class.

Day 4

Each of us came out with three ideas on what we are interested in doing. Did it as in powerpoint and presented it in class. Described what the idea is about and we will need to decide on one idea to be executed on.

Three of my ideas are all about making effects. First is graphics effects about light writing. Second is about transitions. And lastly is about visual effects on how to make a person fade away slowly. From these three ideas, i have chosen to do on light writing. This is because, i am very curious how film makers actually achieve it. I have done random ones on photography but have not yet try any on video.

With the help of more researches, i believe i can find the techniques and successfully execute it.

Day 3

Today, i compiled all three ideas into power point slides. Pretty short and simple. Added in examples like videos to show the class what exactly they are. Hope everything goes well.

Day 2

Today, i spent some time thinking on what to do on. At first i really have no idea at all. Then i started watching MTV from youtube. Slowly getting some ideas from there. The more i watch, the more i am sure about what interest me. Now i just have to choose three that i think i can execute and something i will be excited over.

Day 1

Today is our first day of Advance video. I have no idea what this module is about. So Julian introduced us to this module and elaborated what is needed for the final assignment.

We actually need to find something interesting, something we want to achieve like some visual or graphics effects that we usually see on television and will wonder how they actually did it. We need to research and develop on the idea chosen and come out with the techniques on how exactly it's done. And finally we need to submit a video if it involve filming, or a hard copy of documents if we're doing on script.

I find this module useful as we can actually explore on things we do not know and then learn how to do it. I'm looking forward to it.
